Sandy Arabian reported that she was able to get a grant from her company to bring back health and safety programs to the schools, and she will be running several programs in the future. The school department is planning to have wellness programs in the schools next year.

Roseann Russell brought up the issue of vacations and sports. Much discussion followed and it was agreed to invite Jim Rendle to a meeting in the future to discuss parents concerns.

There was discussion about the teen that was hit by a car outside Quincy High School. They are looking to get a crossing guard there. NQHS PAC is also discussing the issue and Barbara asked Roseann to let us know what happens. A lot of kids cross anywhere they like. Cars also need to be reminded to stop for school buses. Some school buses leave before children cross the street, and some buses drive to fast. Citywide will keep an eye on the issue.

Roseann suggested that the issue of electronic devices in school be addressed at a future meeting. Some teachers use phones and computers for recreational use during classes.

Meeting adjourned at 8:20pm.
